If you ask Roan, he’ll scoff and say, “Nothing, of course. I’m Roan Armiger, what else would I want?”. But deep down, there’s a part of him that he wants to excise: the child trapped inside of him that screams and clamors in fear, that never healed from all that he was put through as a schoolboy.

Vesper would say “I want bigger tits!”.

i wonder if Roan will ever be able to heal from his childhood, but then again, theres a Lot going on rn that i dont think he has the time or capacity to process his trauma and work through it. what do you think about that tho? (:

ugh sorry this is so late... TBH one of my goals w/ this story is to write something where the trauma really is inevitable, and where it does follow you around until the day you die. It's not therapist-approved but it's also kind of a pessimistic vent. Roan is never able to even tell Vesper what happened to him, and he's never going to be able to heal fully. But he is definitely happier with Vesper.

This inevitability of trauma I feel like is more apparent w/ Vesper, since her story represents generational trauma. She chooses to break the cycle, but the only way for her to stop the abuse from perpetuating is for her family line to die with her. It's already too late for her, she's cursed. She'll still painfully wither away. The only way she could make things right was by destruction, there was no constructive way to do it. Just a bitter, thankless elegy for the wreck of the Conchita dynasty.

Roan sounds like he needs SOMEthing. Maybe to have something to shake and tear (or to be further shaken and torn, as sometimes is the wont of making characters!)

Oh you have no idea... Vesper's curse gives her basically Super Evil Endometriosis 5000. her menstrual blood is full of disgusting black mucus and she spends her periods lying in a warm bath and trying desperately not to vomit from cramp pain.

As for Roan... well Vesper is basically his chew toy lol. I see them as kind of symbolically a wolf (or other canine) and a plush toy. Ugh he definitely needs things but he'll never even accept them which annoys me!! Fuck this guy! (I love him)

lets see... ill answer for these two siblings, Lord Ethyron and Tabi!

Ethyron: he would remove his anxiety, thus removing his panic attacks as well. they dont occur nearly as often as when he was a teenager, but he feels its only a weakness that holds him back (that and its from trauma irt his fathers abuse and his abandonment issues)

Tabi: if she was granted this as a wish, her first wish wouldnt fit the criteria— shed wish she took her little brother with her when she fled. sorry, that doesnt count. what shed end up choosing is a lot more simple, shed change her natural hair color to a medium brown. the pink hair color we see she and her brother have are exclusive to the Ethyron Bloodline. no one else has that hair color, so people tend to Immediately Know shes from the empire, even tho her reputation has changed to much more positive.

Ethyron, you can't dodge the consequences of your choices~! (Of course, hate to see anyone have to suffer panic attacks, but characters get a different standard especially when they're conquerors!)

Tabi sounds interesting! I wonder what their lives would have been like if she hadn't fled?

the consequences of his actions will certaintly catch up to him (:

if Tabi hadnt fled and stayed in the empire, she would have inherited the throne and worked to cease efforts to conquer in line with her own ideals. ...unfortunately, she would have been the victim of a political assassination not too many years into her rule

if she successfully brought her little brother with her when she fled though... Ethyron wouldnt be Ethyron! he would have been a much kinder man, working with Tabi against the empire they abandoned. and like how Tabi changed her name from Tabithae, Verasius ae Ethyron i imagine would start going by Vera. for both of them its a matter of not sounding like theyre from the empire, despite their appearances betraying that attempt (pink hair of their bloodline and all)

also once their father would die in battle, the Ethyrial Empire would be left in unrest without the bloodline that had always ruled (perhaps a civil war over who is to lead now?)

much to think about if certain events went down differently !

For Kiyoshi as and adult, it would definitely be his height. He stands at a staggering 185cm/6 ft tall and he doesn't like it. He's got some warped perceptions of cuteness due to his gender, past neglect, and the media he grew up with (90s BL).He really wants to be cute so he's insecure about his height.

but the reasons for his insecurity make sense. plus adds depth to have an oc feel that way about a physical trait they have, so nice that u figured this out! (:

I'll answer for my sona, Étoile.

As the budding princess of the Honeyed Kingdom, she wants nothing more than for the passage of time to accelerate. To be older, wiser, and more established in her eventual role as future queen is something she can't (and won't, a lot of time) wait for to do good onto others. But she's still quite young and should enjoy those years as her family and friends tend to remind her.

Still a great quality for a future ruler to think ahead though!

That's a complicated ask when you start to dig into it— to rush through things is sort of a classic sign of youth, but not to want that change would probably feel like ignoring her duties, I imagine!

If your OC could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?
Lucian would definitely elect to change his body. He has Complex Feelings about having been born a woman. During the course of a story, he occasionally transforms into a demonic form that makes him feel happy with himself in that particular way, but he also faces a great number of challenges due to the social status of demons in the world.

Zephyr would probably change his shyness. It stems primarily from social isolation, and it really bothers him that he isn't as outgoing as he'd like to be.

Sirius would ... change everything about himself. Maybe except for his appearance, or his immediate family connections.

Gonna stick with my Hellgary characters for now and maybe do some setting-swap explorations in the new year!

Jolene: She's very "fuck you guys for asking" about these kinds of questions, but internally, she would like to change just about everything about herself. She would like to be more successful, stronger, more emotionally consolidated... she has a little bit of a trans 'egg' vibe; youngest of five kids and all the elder sibs were brothers; there's a good part of her for whom gender is a complicated issue, which she deals with by ignoring and sweeping under the rug.

Ryan: Ryan would rip his heart and lungs and mind out and bury them if he could; he's not a happy guy and he hurts a lot for it. He would probably prefer to change the world if given some time to think and come to terms with his problems, but that is after working through emotional turmoil, which he is ill equipped to hurdle.
