Discussion Prompt #4
Dec. 12th, 2025 10:36 amHas your OC broken taboos? Do they regret it?
Were they caught? Punished in some manner, or perhaps forgiven? If they haven't broken any taboos, how would they feel if they found out someone close to them did?

Probably a bit too real but still valid in the universe. Keima and Kiyoshi broke the taboo of being in a stable romantic relationship with someone of the same sex, each other. Keima saw it for what it was but not Kiyoshi, so ig Keima had regrets while Kiyoshi didn't.
When their mothers found out— first Kiyoshi's mom—it was a rough moment. Sayuri didn't take seriously her son's feelings for reasons aside from internalized homophobia. Kiyoshi didn't enjoy having this conversation because he's averse to conflict and had to admit that he was also into girls and that he definitely would get married and have kids one day.
Sayuri is close friends with Keima's mom so she snitched. The conversation between Keima and his mom was fairly similar. Keiko is also against the relationship and because they don't connect at all, Keima was less willing to open up about his general disinterest in romance so their mother-son relationship soured further. Keima takes the internalized homophobia after her mother from this point on. She was more vocal about her opinion than Sayuri. Both women do come to terms with it eventually in their own ways.
Adult Keima sense of adventurous so he thinks some taboos are made to be broken and enjoys the idea of pissing people off.
